Ushala at World’s End Chapter 3 pages 12-14

oh dear NSFW warning!  Finally earned our mature rating.  Just some nice happy sex though.  For the record, we are writing this comic with a sly intention: to have a bronze-age fantasy comic where sex is fun and happy, not to glorify weird creepy rapey stuff.  Because…gee does that ruin a fantasy novel for me. So here we have ladies enjoying each other!  With no repercussions aside from occasional heartbreak (the eternal risk…)  I try not to talk too much about our intentions behind this comic because mostly I hope folks read and enjoy this epic adventure and have a chance to form their own opinions, but seriously.  This is important to me, and I wanted to share it!  A bit scary to post this since half my tumblr is children’s book illustrations…

read on smackjeeves!  buy issues one and two here!

I’ve been  following this webcomic and it’s very awesome. The characters are creative as is the world. If you like comics but are looking for something a little different you should definitely check this out.

arswiss:

The latest pages from "The Morrigan" are getting me all excited for Gabriel to unleash his fury on some hell spawn.  This comic has some really great Celtic lore to it and of course, some great archangels.

This is some amazing fan art from a follower of my webcomic arswiss. I have to admit I’m a little speechless (in a good way). Maybe squealing a bit.
arswiss also has an amazing webcomic called Age of the Gray. If you like my comic then you should definitely check her comic out.

1st Cos-play!
So I guess this makes me official. Someone actually cos-played the Morrigan for a convention they went to and sent me a picture. It’s really exciting to see this as a beginning comic illustrator/writer. And hopefully it’s the first of many.

The Morrigan’s Song

This song is sung by the Morrigan after a warrior dies. Since I’m not sure that I’m ever going to get to write the whole song in my book, I thought I’d share it on my blog.

The Morrigan’s Song

Chorus:
Where has my warrior gone?
I thought I saw him on the battlefield.
But when I thought to hear cries of victory,
I only heard cries of woe.

Verse 1:
A Raven flies over the field,
Bearing tidings of the battle.
I beg you raven, please tell me now,
Does my warrior still stand strong?

Good maiden I fear to say,
Your warrior fallen to the ground.
Never to rise or walk again,
The Babdh has called him home.

I pray the mother will justly judge.
I pray the crone will wash his wounds.
I pray my warrior will find peace at last.
I pray he rests in Tir Na Nog.

Chorus

As the Raven flies over the fields
She sings a mournful song.
For all the blood that has been spilt
A blood price must be paid.

A mother cries for her lost son.
A widow cries for her lost love.
A child cries for a father lost.
The blood price has been paid.

Chorus

As the raven flies over the field
She sings a joyful song.
All of those who have fallen
They rest in Tir Na Nog.

In Tir Na Nog they drink fine wine,
And lost friends are now found.
Your warriors stand true and strong,
And peace has now been found.
